On what days can I “drop-in” to play at PlayWiseKids?

PlayWiseKids is open every day for drop-in play. Children and their caregivers are encouraged to play at PlayWiseKids on any day of the week of their choosing. We are only closed July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and are open even when schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Can I “drop-off” my kids at PlayWiseKids?

No!!! Adults must remain with children and supervise their activities at all times. This applies to general admission visitors, field trips, birthday parties and special events.

Is PlayWiseKids wheelchair accessible?

Yes it is! The front of the PlayWiseKids building is wheelchair accessible. All exhibits are on one level, connected through wide hallways, making it easy to navigate the facility.

PlayWiseKids is appropriate for what ages?

Children of all ages (as well as adults) enjoy PlayWiseKids. Click here for more specific information.

When is the PlayWise Store open?

PlayWiseKids offers two ways to shop – in-house and on-line. The PlayWiseKids in-house store is open the same hours as the play facility: Monday through Friday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm; Saturday 9:30 am to 7:00 pm, and Sunday 11:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Items can even be ordered on-line and picked up at PlayWiseKids during our normal business hours.

Do I have to pay admission to shop in the PlayWiseKids in-house store?

Customers are welcome to come in during our business hours to shop. The store is located in the lobby area of PlayWiseKids so customers do not have to pay admission to come in and shop.

Does the PlayWise Store sell the items that kids play with in the exhibit areas?

Many of the items that are available in our exhibit areas are stocked in the PlayWise Store. Customers may shop while at PlayWiseKids, or on-line at their convenience. Some of the items you can find in the PlayWise Store include magnet kits, floor puzzles, 3-D dinosaur puzzles, blocks and toddler toys.

In addition, the store has been stocked with carefully selected items that are not in the exhibit areas. These items can be chosen by parents, grandparents, teachers and other caregivers knowing that they foster learning through creative play. As you browse through the PlayWise Store, you'll find pre-school through third grade workbooks, flashcards and activity mats by School Zone, Carson Dellosa and Straight Edge; many Spanish/English bilingual resources; bathtub learning toys; educational placemats; a large selection of Carson Dellosa's Bingo games for practicing math, telling time, numbers and letters, and even basic Spanish; Melissa and Doug puzzles, manipulative's, arts and crafts kits, and musical instruments. We even offer PlayWiseKids t-shirts that have been specially designed for our guests to color using fabric safe markers.
